Full steam ahead

It's been somewhat hectic around these parts and no I'm not talking about the usual family rhythm, that's a given.

I have been perservering with my freelance design business and  have been working on a couple of proposals with potential clients. Having just won my second large job, it's full steam ahead now. In the process I am also writing up a business plan, daunting to say the least, as whilst good at maths, when it comes to questions as to What are you worth per hour? and How much income do you project for the following year? these and more are the questions that require a maths method crystal ball that I unfortunately don't own. I am working on a formula of how many clients I like on my books at anyone time and hoping that is the key to projecting a regular income. It's a starting point at the very least.

However, I am determined to ensure that my freelance business finally gets that start I have been wanting for years. With all my good intentions in the past, then having more babies, then going back to work for someone else, I feel now I have given myself the opportunity to get this business firing. It's definitely challenging, however I am willing to go with the flow and see where I am by the end of the year. At the moment I feel like I am flying by the seat of pants, as I do the work required to be up and running properly. It can be lonely working from home, so am ensuring I am getting out for coffee at least a couple of times a week. However its not like I haven't been in this position before, yet this time there's not another baby waiting it in the wings. With two children now at school and our toddler being in childcare 3 days a week, for me this is the the time I have to make this work.

So will be updating more regularly now. As I want to document my process of development and also share this experience. I also will have some giveaways soon as I have been clearing out bookshelves and feel it's time to pass these goodies on!

cheers,
Lil

Postscript: The illustration of the feather has no relation to the text I know, I just love this image. x
