This is...What gives me goosebumps

My creation, originally uploaded by lilliboo.

The thought of flying through the air whether it be parachuting, paragliding, bungee jumping all these adventures are about free falling which gives me goosebumps in both a way that is fearful yet mixed surprisingly with intrigued, excitement that it could be an experience worth doing. I love flying in a plane but could I jump from one?????

I like the metaphorical aspect about the fear and have a wonderful quote here:

Come to the edge, he said.
They said, We are afraid.
Come to the edge, He said.
They came.
He pushed them...
And they flew.

-GUILLAUME APOLLINAIRE

Thanks to Juddie of the Flightless Boyds for her fabulous idea and Thank you to Angela of Three Buttons for the "This is..." meme.

The notion of getting up high enough to jump is enough to frighten me off... I can't even think about the falling bit. I get vertigo WATCHING people up high.

I couldn't.

That quote is really good. I will have to remember it when next faced with change.

I went skydiving 2 years ago and it was AMAZING! Would seriously recommend it. I am not a good flyer, and like you, the idea of jumping out of a plane seemed pretty crazy to me.

It remains one of the most incredible things I have done.
Go for it!

Oh yes I'm with you! I find it a touch scary, but a touch thrilling. I'd love to try it someday, but know that I'd be terrified when I do.

Thank you for your kind words on my blog as well and I'm so happy to hear that your daughter has recovered well.

I'm not really good with heights so the thought of flying in the air, or falling from the sky is just way too frightening for me. The thought of it is enough to give me goosebumps

Hmmm, I'm a bit the same, terrified on one hand, curious on the other. I think I'd only ever consider doing something drifty though.. paragliding or something. Jumping out of a plane is not something I'd EVER do!

There's no way I could.

Your earlier post about your little girl gave me goosebumps. I'm glad she's on the mend.

Great quote...

I've thought about skydiving over the years, had a friend who did it semi-pro, but never did it. I hate the feeling as your stomach lurches up on a roller coaster etc so skydiving is probably not for me. I'm happy to let someone else "fly" me.
