This is.....

This is .....My most treasured childhood possessions.

Big Ted, Little Ted and Mouse.
All three softies were newborn presents. Big Ted is handmade by my Auntie, Little Ted a Russ Toy and Mouse...(I think my mother made the mouse.)

This Mini Treasure chest which was my Grandmothers was always kept in my mothers childhood attic room cupboard. Every time I stayed with my Grandparents I would be drawn to this little chest like a beacon. The original doll kept in there was my Grandmothers and I gave it back to her to be repaired a couple of years ago (as she was having a nostalgic trip too) and so I instead placed my own very loved doll.

This is my very own loved doll. She is a Christening doll, her Christening dress is stored in the chest and she is dressed in night time attire that my mother made for her. (I automatically refer to the doll as a she )

The Chest has a second layer to it and in there are stored many items I loved as a child that I felt had to be revealed, more for my nostalgia trip then anything. Note the patchwork doll's blanket which my mother made for my doll's bed. The Doll's bed was a birthday gift when I was 5? which Dad had made but has since been given away.

My beloved Nurses outfit, an embroidered elephant, My hippie bag Dad bought back from a business trip from Germany, my first toddler swimmers (note 60's fabric) and a crocheted bear.

I realise I have gone over the top in what was mean to be one item for this weeks terrific theme as suggested by Teacups on Treetops from the "This is..." meme brought to you by Angela. Had Mosaic Maker all ready to go so it was a compact post but after an hour tonight trying to to work it out...Is wasn't cooperating with me...

I love your selection - your suitcase is a real treasure chest. The bag, the elephant, the nurses outfit... all of it is a great nostalgic collection. And it all looks in great condition. Lucky you!

Photographs can be deceiving..the said items are in good condition but if you were to hold there would be telltale signs of texta marks and and stuffing falling out of bears etc...they have always been loved though, probably why they are well preserved!

Wow! What a wonderful case full of treasures! While there are so many wonderful things in there, it was the nurses outfit that really struck me. I loved my nurses outfit and had forgotten all about it.
